I still remember one of them was refugee from Syria a few years ago. I invited him to join one of our theatre of the opera’s practice. There was one moment he was hugging my knee and leg, while I was sitting, when we were doing our image, he said, “ I feel so warm”!
We became friends.
One time when we were waiting for subway, I asked him about Syria, He said, “ I don’t want to talk about it.”
Today I witness what empowerment means through theatre. I just feel so moved and grateful 🦋
